Brie, Pear & Toasted Walnut Appetizers – A Sandwich Remix

Remix!  What’s a girl to do with 3/4 of a baguette, brie, pears and toasted walnuts?  Make appetizers of course!  I think I might love the appetizer version of this sandwich even more than the original.  It’s bite sized and feels like sin, but without the guilt of eating an entire sandwich!  Brie, pear & toasted walnut appetizers – yum!

Gather up your ingredients

You’ll need the following

Agave for drizzling

6 oz. Brie

1/2 C Toasted Walnuts

1/2 Lemon

1 1/2 Pears

Start by slicing the baguette into bite sized pieces.  For this recipe, I like to keep everything soft, that means no toasted baguette rounds.  If you want to go the extra mile, toast those rounds but I think it’s delicious as is.

Next, slice and quarter your pears.  Cover with the lemon juice to prevent browning.  Toss with your fingers to distribute the lemon juice.

Finally top each slice with a dab of brie and pear.  Drizzle with agave and drizzle with toasted walnuts to complete the effect.

Then just serve!  It took me less than ten minutes to assemble these wonderful bites for “book” club!

  1. Hi,

I am a photo researcher for Pearson Education. We’re wondering if we could use the image of lemon squeezing over the pear wedges in an upcoming chemistry book. Could you please contact me by email.
